"Copy Cat" Kits

Rubber Injection Port

  • (Approved by every hospital)

Latex Injection Port

  • (against hospital regulations)

Clean Bore Tubing

  • Straight path interior allows small particles to flow evenly through the tubing allowing even distribution of particles to the patient
  • Kit is assembled and ready to drop into the canister.

Corrugated Tubing

  • DTPA collects on the internal ridges which creates large particles drops and can impede film results. Tubing is supplied loose in the kit and must be connected to the T adapter and mouthpiece (also loose in the kit) The tubing is easily pulled off when attempting to increase the tubing length (possible contamination issue.)
  • DTPA can get trapped in the T adapter (it serves no function other than as a connector)

HEPA Filter

  • Biodex uses only new, top quality current design HEPA filters

HEPA Filter

  • (Discontinued model or "reconditioned")

Nebulizer

  • Biodex machine tools the internal notch at an exact (specific degree) angle. Thus, every kit is consistent and will produce a consistent small particle size.
  • Biodex uses only new nebulizers and inspects each one before production by adding 2ml of saline and attaching it to a generator to verify a steady strong plume of mist shooting up 5-6" in height. If the nebulizer does not meet the criteria, we reject and discard it. Approximately 25% of nebulizers do not pass out strict QC standards.

Nebulizer (possibly "reconditioned")

  • Notch is cut by hand within internal parts of the nebulizer, which could greatly vary the size of the particle and performance consistency.
  • No testing is performed prior to assembly.

Clearance

Clearance

  • 510K clearance........................................NoFDA clearance.........................................NoTechnical support....................................No
  • Technical data sheets...............................No

Disposal Bag

  • A large disposal bag (color coded to easily identify) and tie is provided in each kit.

Disposal Bag

  • A zip lock freezer bag is provided and is much too small, thus increasing the technologist's chance of contamination.

Given:

Raindrop nebulizer tested (Baffled)
2cc's sterile water
Venti-Scan III (177-082 Lot#059504)
B&D 3cc syringe to add H20
Nebulizer bolus pressure 40PSI constant.

Test conditions 2cc's to dryness (first sputter in nebulizer indicating dryness)
